Grand Nain is the variety behind most of the bananas sold in North America, and it earned that spot by being relentlessly productive. Bunches of 100+ fruit are normal on a mature plant, and the flavor is the sweet, familiar banana profile everyone already likes.
At 8–12 feet it is bigger than a Dwarf Cavendish but still manageable in a large container. Plant it where it gets sun and shelter from wind, keep it fed, and it will out-produce anything else on this page.
