Elite Gold — the MD-2 cultivar — is the golden pineapple that took over the produce aisle in the 2000s, and for good reason. It is sweeter than the older Smooth Cayenne types, four times higher in vitamin C, and has a rich golden flesh with a firm, juicy texture.

Homegrown, harvested fully ripe rather than shipped green, it is dramatically better than anything you can buy.

Care notes
